It has been a while since I have written anything. Sometimes, like many others, I get into a writing/blogging funk and have nothing good to say. Sure, I could give you the play-by-play of my daily life with two toddlers pulling me in all directions but how much fun is that to read again and again?

I was hoping for life to slow down a bit after the holidays but with all that is going on here, life is getting busier by the day. Tonight, however, I am going to do a little Weekend Bloghopping with some of my fellow bloggers! BusyDad started The Weekend Bloghoppers a few weeks ago due to many of us being parents and at home on the weekends with our families instead of out bar hopping like we did during those wild and crazy years known as "before kids."

While doing some much needed blog hopping I'll be taking a break to watch the new episodes of Friday Night Lights (I have 2 weeks of catching up to do on the DVR). It's filmed here in Austin and the surrounding areas and it's about high school football in Texas, which is some of the best football there is! I should know since I grew up in Texas. I didn't play football, though, because I would have been snapped like a twig in the first game of the season. I did get to do a lot of screaming and yelling on the sidelines as part of the squad. Not the cheer leading squad but the guys who led the chants and did base stunts with the cheerleaders...OK, maybe some of you would call that cheer leading but we didn't go to competition with the girls and wore boots and jeans to the games! We were cool! I swear!

I can't believe I just let that cat out of the bag. Sealed

Back to blog hopping! See you all around!

Hey, it's cool that you were a cheer leader, in that you yelled at people to lead cheers. It's cool. We're adults here.

Texas football is the best! My four girls have football force fed every weekend. #3's first word was touchdown. But as much as I love it, I don't think I can watch the Superbowl this year. The Giants, no personality and I'm ticked at them for beating every team I cheered for. And Brady's just a punk. Guess I'll suck it up and root for lots of injuries!

Brady is a punk! I'm still cheering for the Giants even though they beat the Cowboys. :(

Now, I wouldn't normally laugh at the male cheer leading thing, but since you seem to be in denial...

.... that we actually SERIOUSLY considered moving to Texas so our boys would be practically guaranteed a phenomenal high school football experience? I'm not kidding. :)

Fortunately, at some point shortly before we began actively packing boxes, we regained our sanity. hehehe

A male cheerleader eh? There is nothing to be ashamed of in that at all. we're all mature here.

Hee hee - thanks for stopping by! I was myself a Pommie, and totally fell for a male cheerleader at my university my freshman year. He was SO great looking and ultra buff. Then, he turned out gay. BUT, I'm sure you're not. ;) Kidding - I can totally picture the boots and jeans - you ARE cool!
